Oct 2009
Chains could not hold down the pride which filled in
Through the open bars of my cell.
Darkness could not smother the thickening sounds
Of silence, still and deadly
A moving shadow dared to oppress me of my
Breath, my last breath
I scream the last of my heart,
One cough silenced the sickening tongue,
The head flopped to one side, cold, then still
The scream filled the room, even the barred windows
Could not stop the scream from escaping.
