When I remember you
I see your smile;
Twinkling like the stars in the sky.
Contagious to everyone near.

When I remember you
I think of cherry stems,
Tied between your teeth.
The knot the held us all together.

When I remember you
I see your chair.
It's still there.
Hovering and vacant.
A dark, gray cloud.

When I remember you
I picture the lights
Blue and red and white,
Taking you away from us.

When I think of you
I see you there.
In the wind chimes at grandma's
And again I hear your laugh.
