Star Race
You called it a race
to the stars, each one
bursting as we reached
its edges,Β Β the whites of
their eyes becoming yellow,
sweeping the sky in
orange kisses,
and in those explosions
of colour and fire,
I realised that love
was chasing us
into nothingness
