feather

There will come a day

When sights

And sounds

Will melt into

The air and say.

“why have you held on?”

and I will reply

“because my heart

is too strong”

I’ve ripped and

Torn through

The endless

Fabric that

Wraps around

My senses

And keeps

My conscience

Warm.

Warm enough

But reserved

For a night

When you leave

Her for me.

“a day my friend,

of no guarantee.”

To love is to live

To be hopeless-

My life I’d rather give-

Away with this heart

That’s

Beating

Me.
