I'm going to stand on the edge of the world
Along the coast of California,
Dip my toes in the surf, my heels in the sand.
What's behind me now will be No Man's Land.

I'm going to swim against the current
Shivering, shaking, not losing my pacing.
Upstream is half the battle
When it's against the human race I find myself racing.

But it's a battle that's hard to win
So I jump back in the stream and continue to swim.
Collaboration with the always pleasant Mike Hauser. Proudly helped him through a poem he's been stumbling with for awhile. Glad I could help!
