The spaceship
Makes trips
To and from
My favorite planet
Quick!

Yes,
I need
The speed
Of light
Nothing less
I’m already gone!!

Which means
By the time
You’re sight
Reaches my brake lights
I’m already home

Around the universe
In 60 seconds
Without a minute to spare
Seen it all
And some
I ran from
The past
And now
I hold the future
For ransom

Rockets
Are the object
Of my affection
Uplifted
Lifted up
Off the atlas
Pass the atmosphere
Fears
Left at home
With the city
The bright lights
Of a starry night
Guides me
Outside the box
Seeing through
The eyes
Of Galileo
My telescopic vision
See’s earth
As the prison
Of my eternal soul
I’ll start my trip early
And rip
Through the fabric
Of space in time
Before it’s too late
And I’m
Stuck
Buried
On the Planet of Apes

It’s time to evolve
Again
Let’s leave
With our
Artificial wings
Showcase art
Like Apollo
Our Space Arc
Seats 7 billion
If the world’s willing
To rise
Above Earth
And set sail
Across the black sea
Of the Galaxy
