I looked up
through cypress boughs
to see the sliver, a moon smile
casting eerie shadows upon
leaves dancing, swaying moss
swirling & ricocheting
the hard echoes
of bullfrogs singing
rich swamp melody.

I wish I could
stay here forever,
in this southern flavor,
deep in the bayou,
where gators growl.
