If I really do love her
I will shake hands with her mistakes
and every time she's next to me
I'll pretend we just met.
If I really do love her
I will catch her when she falls
and not let the darkness
drown her in my poisoned sea.
I have seen where this ocean can lead us,
she slips off the edge of the cliff
while I watch as I dig my own grave.
If I really do love her
I will trust that at the end of every day
she would rather dream of me than fall asleep.
If I really do love her
I'll know in my heart that she smiles at the
idea of me.
If I really do love her,
which I do.
