An image,
Tattooed on your brain,
Always there,
Always with you,
Deep dark ink,
Etched in,
and you see it..

again,
and
again,
and
again.

Taking it with you,
to exotic places,
Peaceful places,
Places in the sun.

If someone were to look,
Deep into your eyes,
Or kiss you with their eyes open,
They might catch a glimpse,
Of the shadow…but they’d have to know,
What they are looking for.

Your soul anchored down,
with melancholy  madness,
Surrounded by hope,
and the wanting of happiness.

A tattoo etched on your mind
