I'm sitting by the river
Hands clenched
I look down at my hands
Seeing the scares of the stones
The wrinkles of time
But when I look closer
All I see is sorrow
So I open my hands
Watch the pebble fall
To rest upon all the others
I lay back against the shore
And look up at the sky
Seeing all the stars
And realizing that
The world is bigger
Then this little river.
Revised to be a little better I hope.
