You went back to my well
once too many times,
incessantly
pulling my rope,
you wound me up
to feed your constant thirst,
emptied me of my dreams.

My heart is
no longer restless &
I feel listless in my quiet bed.
Dry like the hottest desert,
it's hard to even open my eyes,
this crying has dried up
all of my tears.
I tried to quench
your burning desires,
but darling,
I'm tearless now...

O how I would still
love to soothe your parched lips,
sprinkle you with
drops of saline,
fill up your cup
with tears of joy!
