Broken Home
Since I can't have you with me,
My heart begins to cry.
The lone room echos to me
A lonesome lullabye
Since I can't have you with me,
The table bears an empty chair
The space only occupied
By the surrounding air.
Since I can't have you with me,
I'll wish upon a star
That you're wishing for me too
Where ever you are.
Since I can't have you with me
I've been lonely to the core.
Looking and remembering.
Our pictures out on the floor.
Since I can't have you with me,
I'll slide through all the days
And think about you all the time
So that your image stays.
Since I can't have you with me,
I'll fight back the tears.
And answer the door
In hopes you might be here.
Since I can't have you with me
I'll keep you in my locket
I'll just fold you up
And put you in my pocket
Since I can't have you with me,
I guess I'll have to wait.
Even though being away from you
Is the one thing I hate
Since I can't have you with me,
I'll cry these tears alone,
And I'll wait until the day
You can come back home.
