Gentle Bones
Invade my dreams,
one more time tonight
and submerge yourself
in the dark waters behind my eyes.
Dance precariously, like
a nervous imp around my
thoughts, careful not to tread
too hard, for you tread within me.
Whisper quiet as the
cold chill outside my window,
and feel my gentle bones in a way
that only you can,
And stay with me, my effervescent
companion, in the tumbling
storm of thought, raging ferociously
behind eyes slammed shut.
