Our love story doesn't exist
It's what I create within the walls of my mind
I pretend you're who I need you to be

What once were qualities needed
Are no longer so
This day and time it's about qualities desired

Women living the roles of men
Men domesticated in aprons
Sprawled out on couches

Men living the roles of women
Women working two jobs
Going without sleep feeding the children

It's sad to think that generations past
Took part in solidifying my destiny
To never have what I really need

Our love story doesn't exist
It's what I create within the walls of my mind
I pretend you're who I need you to be
