For the first time in awhile
I can parade a meaningful smile
of gratitude and happiness
because of those I share my life with.

No one can tear these feelings down
because who I am is not worth the frown.
And any hateful words don't stand a chance
because no matter what, my heart continues to dance.

My friends and family are always near.
Without them, I wouldn't even be here.
And with my friends, family and sweetheart by my side...
I am happy.
