Dying Earth
As I look out at the dying Earth, a thought comes to mind, of a warm home and hearth, and lovers that I pined.
The cracks appear on the crust, the atmosphere bleeds into space, a thought lingers of broken trust, and my lover's face.
The planet splits in two, coming apart, like a cracked egg, or a broken heart.
The imaginary screams of a billion souls fill the non-existent air, my mind wanders to thoughts of her velvet voice and auburn hair.
As I stare at the ashes of my former home, the realization comes that I am all alone. AΒ single manΒ among the stars, destined to wonder wide and far.
