The tribes were sending signals,
it seemed someone has been sleighted,
a war seemed inevitable.

Of course, there was a way out,
but it was risky.
Mingo knew the outcome
if his idea failed.

When he slipped into the canoe
& paddled north,
his woman knew she
would never see him again.

She was right as
the battle came two days later,
Mingo didn't.
