Today I did not wake up to breakfast in bed
I did not wake up by the sea
I did not hear your familiar voice
I tried and still I could breathe
so I mustered all of my strength
and I made myself stand
I looked down at my body
and saw that I had two hands
I used those hands to switch
that light right near the door
and all of a sudden I saw a roof
and I even saw a floor
Lots of clothes lay upon it
they looked so pretty and warm
they were pieces put together
not like my heart that felt so torn
then the strangest thing did occur
as is stood there on my floor
I found a piece of glass
that let me see even more
inside the glass there was a girl
she seemed a little upset
and all of a sudden I felt my hand
reach out and cover my chest
inside my chest there was a thud
my hand felt its bump
and for the first time in a long time
I felt lucky that I woke up.
