Dying Love
Tender caresses as I cradle her,
hair cascading her back.
Lying on the blanket
warmed by afternoon sun,
I listen to her pale, faded breathing
Scents ambrosial, are witness to our love.
My kisses , gentle on her lips
as she slips away
with one final breath.
