In the back of her mind’s eye, she carries visions
Of ancient times she never met
Filling her day’s with riveting memories
She cannot possibly ever forget

Vividly remembering spectacular scenes of a past
She knows could not be her own
Still, feeling a part of worlds long gone from time
So familiar and yet unknown

She recalls days wandering the Isle of Rhodes
Admiring the pink hibiscus flowers
Until the Persians invaded her beautiful home
Locking her away in their towers

Blushing in sweet bliss, she remembers her Ares
Her soul mate and only desire
Nights of sweet kisses and stolen hours
By the glow of a hidden fire

In the back of her mind’s eye, she holds these visions
Wondering always, why they are there
Feeling a part of worlds long gone from time
Knowing she does not belong here
