The sunlight
Shining through the leaves of the trees
Onto the forest floor
On and into my skin
Warms me as I wake.

I stand
On these skinny and agile legs
That move me through my world
And protect me from the unknown.

The green grass
That I eat so hastily
Fills my stomach
As I couldn’t love life more.

I freeze
Something in the brush
Cracks the twigs and rots the ground
It is evil and cannot be seen

The demonic sound
Cuts through the air
And into me
As I fall engulfed by pain.

The sunlight
That shines through the leaves of the trees
Falls not on me, but a hovering shadow
Red seeps out and makes me weak
It chills me as I start to sleep
