Meet me half way
Where promises taste like
Nicotine and free handed
Kisses
In a meadow where flowers
Have long since wilted
Because the sky forgot
To water them

Meet me half way
Where the boulder in the middle
Of the river splits
We used to dance on that boulder
And sing lullabies

Now I sit alone on that boulder
Wondering why our lullabies
Turned to screams and why you
No longer return calls
