Take what you need,
and then throw out the rest,
except for my heart,
that belongs in my chest ....

I'm not sure if it's broken,
it's been silent for days,
he just sits there in silence,
with a blank empty gaze ....

This isn't the first time,
although it may be the last,
that I pick up these pieces,
able to brush off the past ....

Cut open this heavy heart,
to reveal nothing inside,
it's just a cold hollow shell,
where the best parts of us died....
