Jan 2014
Winds swirl through the pines,
whispering
the coming of the freeze.
As the sun dips west,
an owl reports
his tradition hoot.

I sit alone
watching leaves fall,
wondering if
he's sending a warning
or just plain happy
about hunting
on a cold chilly night.
