For this is a new year,
a fresh new start.
But for me,
I know I will be thinking back,
from when we spoke last.
And saying in my mind
"last year at this time of year.."
For every month and every day,
is a reminder you are not here.
And I think to that time,
perhaps if I had done differently,
this year wouldn't be quite as lonely.
