Dec 2013
One time a bird flew to my window
It stayed for awhile, then subtly flew off
I'm not quite sure why but I felt hollow
It was as though the bird had taken a piece of me
It brought back memories of when you did the same to me
I didn't even notice you there, but when you left you took everything
I also envied how care free it left
As though if didn't have a care in the world
A bird doesn't have a home
A bird doesn't have someone to hold on to
A bird doesn't fear that someone will leave
A bird is its own
So since that day I have strived to be a bird
