Fresh lovely flowers,
colors of spring.
In a porcelain vase,
some delicious scent.

No flavor for cakes,
cream cookies or chocolates.
Such provoking thoughts.
The irony, waste not.

A burning candle by the altar.
The sincerest prayer,
a deep longing… heartbreak.
The truth’s embrace.

Her simple wants,
such a mother of love.
Her children’s joy,
her loved-one’s content.

Then prayer as it is.
Some flowers to go by.
Smiles to go around.
And my heart’s courage.
