Wake Up

Listen carefully. Take off the face you put up To keep everyone out. Hear the sighs of relief because there’s a shred of hope yet. Listen now. Your insecurities are screaming “Let me go, let me go.” You hide behind fake skin, but the real you is crawling beneath. Just Listen. You’re not fooling anyone, and you can’t hide forever. Break free from yourself, and stop holding yourself back. The dawn is breaking; It’s time to wake up.

After sitting next to a full row of sorority girls, I cam back to my room, ate a donut, and wrote this poem.
