Dec 2013
sun
For the longest time
My soul was a barren landscape
War-torn and destroyed by the footprints of many
By the fire and gunpowder of the battles I've seen
But now
The dust has settled
The dead have been laid to rest
And the quiet has set in
One takes in the world around them
The once broken land inside my heart
And sees the flowers popping up left and right
And if time is the rain that forces them grow
You are the sun that keeps them alive
just some words to my best friend about how endlessly thankful i am for his very existence
