Introverted Daydreams

Imagine for a moment-

For one single infinity, that you have a love

Invisible except for the safety pin

Which tethers it to

Your half-there heart

Locked in the cage of your ribs.

It's unimportant

But it's free, it's yours

It's the secret you've always wanted to keep.

Architectural words won't cut it

So you **** the page

And watch the ink bleed

Hope burning out each syllable

The hope that someone wants

To find the key

Which you tossed so hopelessly

Into the darkness.
