this wistful feeling

by solluna

listening to the songs from the '90s this morning and looking in the mirror, it reflected not an image of a woman — but a 14 year old girl who spent her youth yearning for this beauty. a less crooked smile all thanks to the thousands that she spent; her eyes lacking of a sort of shine but still bore hope; donning a white laced headband in a haircut she never wanted because she begged for a longer haircut from the local barber in her hometown; a puffed up flowery dress that she bought from a payday sale online. she felt more like a girl, than the girl she once was. thankfully, today she saw the life that would be hers.
