Hope for Hungary

In Hungary, the people have ousted Viktor Orbán! Hip, hip, hurray! A new leader, Péter Magyar, Is promising a brand new day. After 16 years of Orbán, During which time folks had to cope With hateful repression and limited rights, Magyar is offering freedom and hope. Not all folks deserve to have Equal rights, Orbán claimed. Only straight white men should possess All the power, he maintained. Orbán controlled the media. Freedom of speech was thus curtailed. Let's all hope that the autocrat's Corruption now becomes unveiled. Mobilizing supporters with fear And hatred was for Orbán the trend. Magyar says Hungarians must Be united; the hatred must end. Hungarians brought democracy Back to their country. 'Twill be a shame If we in future elections here In America cannot do the same. -by Bob B (5-11-26)
