you

tell yourself

that you are fine,

because:

you're normal

you're happy

you don't have scars up your arm-

right arm, so you can show people

that you're right-handed, so cutting

couldn't be the reason for those lines-

you aren't scared

you aren't afraid that you'll never learn to hide

your tears

you aren't afraid that you'll

never learn to stop

you aren't afraid that maybe

you'll never die and this will go

on and on and on

you're fine, aren't you?

you're her skinny, overachieving,

academic, athletic, pretty, perfect daughter
