warming the wings

it’s useless

to want to live the world

when you can’t yet

inhabit your own skin

 

sometimes

the list of things to do

the urge to fly farther

has to wait

 

a butterfly

doesn’t fly right away

when it leaves the cocoon

first

it warms its wings
