I am thankful for

My parents for holding me up in the times I have crumbled
Into the dark corners of my mind

I am thankful for

All of the people I call my friends that dance and sing in the streets
Like hoodlums

I am thankful for

The boy, that stupid boy, who took my heart and won’t give it back
That makes me smile with everything he does
That makes me laugh without failure, without realizing
That I love with everything I have

I am thankful for

The life I have kept
Even when I used to wish
I could just jump into the cold waters
Below the bridge
