Today, I buried a friend
Afraid to face
The next phase in life
Helpless
To watch
This dreadful disease
Pass on to another generation
No cure has been found
She pulls the plug
from the bedside
Of her dearest father
Hoping he will be
Peaceful in a place
Of sanctuary
We were about to wed
Then death showed up
Ruining a perfect ceremony
Our love
Disconnected once more
She needs her space
For now
Where will I go after that?
To a trail of broken segments
Which cannot fix?
I love her as I always do
She will love again
Once fatality clears
Her doorway
