A year ago I was married Today I am not A year a go I lived in Atlanta Today I live in Abiquiú A year ago I was ending my career as a therapist Today, I am stepping into a new role A year ago I was miserable In and out of hospitals, overweight and depressed Clinging to a version of me that society had set Today I may be the happiest I have ever been Embracing each new day with loving trust Feeling for the first time truly seen, encouraged and appreciated Listening for the first time to where the energy flows and releasing all the rest A year ago Just 1 year And everything is different In one 1 year everything can change Everything can happen Soooo embrace the unknown Instead of suffering in the seemingly “safety” of comfortability 2025 could be looked at as my worst year I often hear from others that’s what it’s been for them Yet 2025 may be my best year yet Because in literally 1 year I decided I will not settle for less And unapologetically let go of all the rest
