Spare me your empty words
and these helpless cries of affection
You can save these texts for another girl
And use them without recollection

You can't "win" me
Or anyone, for that matter
I can choose you, or I can choose myself
I won't apologize, I'll take the latter

I am a person
I've seen your antics and I'm quite done
don't save room for me on your shelf
I am not a prize to be won.
Boys think that sending me "good morning" texts will make me swoon. Guess what? They don't. It takes a little more than words to "win" a girl.
