Should I take it personally
Knowing that you
Don’t want to know me
You’ve got your reasons
Valid and real
I do not possess universal appeal
I can’t question your judgement
I think you’re great
Whether or not
You want me on your plate
I stand aside
Offering a bounty
From which you don’t want to feed
And for now
Alone I eat
Which has to be
Enough for me
