A journey like this
Should begin
With a kiss
For luck..on the cheek
For our adventurous souls
We bid farewell
To those we loved
So well
And never look over
Our shoulders
You know these words?
That layout before you?
Like the road we are on,
Recognize the
Diner and gas station ?
Things were older then
Black and white
Representations
What our memories
Lack
Our lips do smack
The taste of regret
And anticipation
As we bid farewell
To aunts and uncles who
Still
Burn a candle for our triumphant
Return
To bordem and our eventual
Burden of death
But,
now
******* it
Right now, my hairs blown back
My dog on my lap
As
You drive
The station wagon.
Don't cry for me
Ahead I see
A rider
Going
To
the same destination
