I don't hear voices

I don’t hear voices in my head,

only the howling of gods and demons,

maybe murmuring nymphs and satyrs sometimes

and the distant throb of drums.

But it’s the silence I fear the most,

when no one answers.

Especially the ones I loved

so deeply.

I need to hear their voices

so I can honor them and hug them

and laugh with them

again.
