someone once asked me,
moon or stars?
and i didn’t know
what to say
i laughed it off,
said something like
depends on the day

but i kept thinking
long after they forgot,
stared at ceilings
my chest in a knot
and long closed doors
trying to name
what moved me more

the steady pull
of a silver moon,
or how stars burn
and disappear to soon

and then it hit me
something softer,
yet brighter than stars,
something that pulls more gently,
but deeper than moonlit scars

i’ve gotten an answer

and so now,
if anyone asks,
moon or stars?
i’d say your eyes
this is from a quote on twitter. "moon or stars? your eyes"
it just felt really cute and i wanted to make a poem around it
