It eased my mind and soothed my soul
Then ruled the darkness black as coal
The Summer wind in times as these
Blew steady South down through the trees
And,oh, my fondest loves steadfast
Fled one by one with eyes downcast
Move my footsteps,make it rain
And take me home benieth the train

Long ago I'd known the way
Ran the roads 'till she went away
But maybe while those days blew past
I lost my hold and paid at last
She seeks neither truth nor sane
And I couldn't live these lies again

So through her cries and broken heart
I felt great sadness tear apart
The wonderous woman, I instead
Searched for a cure, she wished me dead
I woke inside my lover's fire
Cried her name as never prior
Clawed my way to better air
Her cutting laughter ended there

I alone not looking back
Wandered briefly down the track
