Unbeknownst to me,
I was a fool.
Waiting in silence
Counting the beads, counting the time
The air turns cold, turning the leaves.
Blind to your true nature.
The heart looking past your wiles
But the intestines impugned your character.
Questioning for my protection.
Only for you to reveal who you are,
and that isn't for me to change.
