Let them go,
like wind through fingers
never yours to hold,
only yours
to feel.

Let them fade
into the hush of yesterday,
where names lose weight,
and memories
forget how to ache.

Let them unlove you
their leaving
is not your breaking.
You were whole
long before they knocked.

Let them forget
you are not meant
to haunt anyone’s forever.
You are a moment,
a breath,
a soft goodbye.

Let them say nothing
Let them mean nothing
You have given enough
now give yourself
the peace of release.

For in the quiet
after the letting go,
you will hear
your soul exhale.
