Talking to Oneself

I’ve made a lot of mistakes,
with sky-high stakes.

There’s an invisible floating shelf
of all my clean and ***** laundry,
always in my face.

Still, I root for myself.

Life is, after all, mostly about loss,
heartbreak, regret,
and letting go.

I am here,
with a healthy dose of love for myself,
betting on more joyful moments to come.

For now,
I breathe.
