An Surat ha Botelya nga Gin-anod ha Baybayon

by @Caryl28

Mayda ko nakita-an ha baybayon. Gin-anod tikang ha hirayo May sulod nga papel, pinutos hin maupay. Mga pulong nga puno hin mga pahaliday. Mahusay an kasurat, sugad hin awit, Nagpapahayag hin gugma, ha ak' kalag sinmangpit. An akon kasing-kasing nalipay intawon Kay an mensahe para man ha akon. Pero ha ubos han surat, mayda ngaran. Diri akon. An surat ha botelya Para ha akon nawawara nga kalugaringon.

English Translation:

The Letter in a Bottle Washed Ashore

I found something upon the shore.

Washed in from the distant sea,

Inside was paper, wrapped up well.

Words filled with longing, it did tell.

The writing was lovely, like a song,

Declaring a love, to my soul it thronged.

My heart, poor thing, was filled with glee,

For the message, it seemed, was meant for me.

But at the bottom of the letter, a name did lie.

Not mine.

The letter in the bottle,

Was for my own lost self,

Passing by.
