I don't feel awake without the rain

Perhaps a misconnection in my brain

The sun makes me groggy and unhappy

But the shadows are my safe space

And sometimes I wish to say

Not today, but they wake me up

Toss me around

Throw me outside

Let me fall on the ground

Wish I didn't need to do it today
