wanted, wanted,
summer strangers borrowed wife
traveling the night
with her white knight
till she got out of sight

i’m her and i’ll never show
and i’d lie if i’d say
“you know
i don’t dream for your embrace
and your lips that’d turn into a bow”

singing oh, that ringing
in every street light
darling!
your deep sunken eyes
could see through my lies

babe i was wrong
but i don’t wish to kiss you
just cause i miss you
so take down that warrant
that you issued

but i’ll still take a ride
in those strange summer nights
when you were my white knight
and i,
your borrowed wife
