so much of my life revolves around fear;
it paralyzes me once a year, every year.
in the dark and the cold,
no shadow to be seen,
my mind, stiff;
but not at peace.
as the ice melts, and the sun rises;
my joints creak and groan.
heart pounding, and blood begins to flow!
the ground starts rumbling;
sharp blades charge up, unfurling.
the world passes me by, faster and faster
and faster and faster!
the breeze rolls past now, and i've made it
to spring.
i hope whoever reads this can imagine a young person running, elated, through a field and can feel that pure joy and freedom just to be outside :)
